Role Overview
The Chef de Partie will be tasked with preparing dishes and recipes consistent with Avoca’s high standards and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold exceptional standards in food hygiene, service, and presentation, complying with HACCP and Health & Safety regulations.
- Support menu planning and cost assessments to ensure budgeted gross profit margins are met while minimizing waste.
- Manage food ordering in alignment with company purchasing policies, sourcing only from approved suppliers.
- Ensure rigorous adherence to daily Food Safety and Quality records within the kitchen and related areas without exception.
- Lead and inspire the kitchen team to consistently deliver top-quality food to clients.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to inspect and approve all incoming food deliveries, guaranteeing the highest quality produce.
- Monitor innovative food presentation and maintain temperature records accurately using required charts.
- Assist with inventory stocktakes as necessary.
- Review and update the kitchen hazard list weekly alongside the Head Chef.
- Maintain effective communication and positive relationships with clients, customers, and colleagues.
Qualifications and Experience
- Formal culinary credentials or equivalent practical experience.
- Between one and two years of experience in a professional kitchen environment.
- Familiarity with HACCP documentation.
- Experience in planning menus.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Maintenance of high personal hygiene standards.
- Professional and courteous conduct at all times.
- Capacity to multitask efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with staff and customers at various levels.
- Ability to follow and provide accurate instructions, whether written or verbal.
