Overview
Join the world's leading freight forwarding company with a global team of over 160,000 colleagues, including a dedicated group of more than 1,000 Project Logistics experts. As a Chartering Manager based in Dubai, you will play a pivotal role in expanding DSV's presence in the project chartering market within the Global Ocean Chartering Desk, part of the DPIS product unit.
Our Global Ocean Chartering Desk team operates across multiple international offices including Denmark (HQ), the Netherlands, Dubai, Singapore, China, and the US. We support DSV branches worldwide handling breakbulk, project cargo, and heavy lift shipments, maintaining a close-knit and collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage requests and bookings for project cargo and chartering from offices in the Middle East region, collaborating closely with local and international DSV offices.
- Conduct site visits primarily within the Middle East, Indian subcontinent, and Africa to establish and strengthen relationships with regional offices.
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders, providing top-tier service and participating in customer meetings to support business growth.
- Build and nurture a robust network with carriers, acting as the primary liaison within the carrier market for colleagues.
- Operate with a high degree of independence while drawing support from both local and global teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Several years of practical experience in chartering.
- Established professional connections within the chartering industry.
- Proven experience in booking project cargo on multipurpose vessels.
- Familiarity with BIMCO contracts including CONLINE BOOKING NOTE, GENCON, NYPE, and BALTIME, along with standard terms in the multipurpose vessel segment.
- Proficient communication skills in English.
