About Southern Cross Wellington Hospital

Southern Cross Wellington Hospital operates as a private elective surgical center, featuring facilities such as day procedure areas, five operating theatres, and a modern High Dependency unit. These resources enable treatment for varied patient needs, including complex surgeries in orthopaedics, neurosurgery, colorectal, gynaecology, paediatrics, ENT, ophthalmology, oncology, and urology. Established in 1992, the hospital has expanded with recent additions, including a state-of-the-art Day Stay surgical facility at 88 Hanson Street, alongside Affinity Medical Imaging and the Southern Cross Specialist Centre.

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Change Manager capable of transforming strategic objectives into actionable initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with leadership, clinicians, project teams, and frontline staff to lead change management efforts across diverse programs. Key responsibilities include fostering stakeholder engagement, developing communication and training strategies, and supporting adoption of sustainable operational improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the human aspects of change initiatives across multiple projects and programs.
  • Develop and implement communication and training plans tailored for different stakeholder groups.
  • Build strong partnerships with leaders, clinicians, and operational teams to facilitate successful change adoption.
  • Drive projects from inception through implementation, maintaining focus on tangible outcomes.
  • Navigate complex operational environments to address challenges and resistance effectively.

Required Skills and Experience

  • More than 5 years' experience in change management, transformation, or leadership of organizational change.
  • Proven ability to create and execute change strategies within complex settings, including risk management related to change.
  • Strong project management capability paired with stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at all organizational levels.
  • Superior communication, presentation, and facilitation abilities.
  • Experience designing and delivering training programs and building organizational capability.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, proactive mindset, and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Resilience and confidence to manage resistance while cultivating trustworthy relationships.
  • Experience within or adjacent to a hospital environment preferred but not mandatory.
  • Relevant tertiary education and/or formal change management certifications (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR) advantageous.
