CFD Specialist – Dispersion, Explosion & Fire

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CFD Specialist to lead advanced gas dispersion, explosion, and fire modeling projects within the oil and gas sector. The role demands expertise in performing detailed FLACS and KFX studies along with the ability to build accurate 3D geometries and conduct probabilistic explosion analyses. This specialist will also be responsible for generating exceedance curves and defining accidental design loads, as well as supporting H2S zoning and other sophisticated fire/explosion assessments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead computational fluid dynamics simulations for gas dispersion, fire, and explosion scenarios.
• Conduct FLACS and KFX software-based risk and consequence analyses.
• Create, refine, and validate three-dimensional geometrical models relevant to project scopes.
• Perform probabilistic analyses to evaluate explosion risks and consequences.
• Develop exceedance probability curves and determine accidental design load parameters.
• Provide expert support for hydrogen sulfide (H2S) zoning and perform specialized fire and explosion studies.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Master's or Doctoral degree in an applicable engineering discipline.
• More than 15 years of professional experience specializing in CFD consequence modeling.
• Proven extensive experience managing projects involving FLACS and/or KFX software.
• Background in oil and gas industry applications.
• Familiarity with industry standards including NORSOK Z-013 and API RP 2FB for safety and design.
