Certification Program Specialist, GMA

Job Overview

UL Solutions, a global leader in safety science, seeks a Certification Program Specialist based in Singapore. This role involves overseeing and approving controlled goods regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Office (CPSO) and other certification schemes managed by UL Solutions. The specialist will also engage in project management, team leadership, stakeholder liaison, and continuous improvement of certification services.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve Controlled Goods under the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations and other UL certification programs.
• Manage and execute projects of moderate complexity within certification operations.
• Provide leadership and guidance to team members supporting certification program operations.
• Collaborate with business unit stakeholders to ensure certification programs satisfy customer and internal requirements.
• Lead efforts to improve and enhance UL's service quality to internal and external clients.
• Support program or scheme owners in running and refining certification schemes.
• Handle and escalate program-related issues as necessary.
• Adhere strictly to UL's Code of Conduct and all associated physical and digital security protocols.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, International Relations, or a related discipline aligned with the program focus.
• A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry and its sectors.
• Sound understanding of certification scheme operations and ability to reconcile regulatory demands with business and customer expectations.
• Familiarity with particular geographic regions and their regulatory frameworks.
• Strong influencing and communication skills, capable of delivering messages clearly and persuasively.
• Proven ability to build networks and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Leadership skills to guide teamwork and promote collaboration toward common goals.
• Capability to make informed decisions in uncertain environments and support customers through problem-solving.
• Excellent communication aptitude, able to distill complex requirements into accessible information.
• A proactive, solution-focused approach centered on quality and customer satisfaction.
