Job description
About the Role
Amazon Now (Anow) is Amazon's rapid delivery service in Saudi Arabia, facilitating delivery of daily necessities within 15 minutes from dark stores nationwide. We are aggressively expanding to become the top player in the highly competitive quick commerce sector worldwide.
As a Category Manager for Anow Saudi Arabia, you will oversee the complete performance cycle for one or multiple product categories. This includes managing product selection, ensuring availability, and implementing commercial strategies outlined by senior category leadership. This role requires hands-on involvement in data analysis, interdepartmental coordination, and expedited category enhancements. You'll collaborate with Senior Category Managers, Vendor Managers, and Operations teams to translate strategy into daily action plans.
Primary Responsibilities
- Track daily category performance metrics such as Gross Merchandise Sales (GMS), units sold, product availability, and SWOOS, promptly identifying issues supported by thorough root cause analysis.
- Expand and preserve the in-stock product range by pinpointing missing items (ASINs), partnering with Vendor Managers to speed onboarding, and monitoring listing developments.
- Assist in vendor contract negotiations and commercial arrangements under senior leadership supervision.
- Regularly analyze competitors such as Ninja, Keeta, Noon, and Hungerstation to recognize gaps in selection and availability within assigned categories.
- Prepare category-specific inputs for key commercial campaigns including Ramadan, National Day, and Back to School, covering inventory planning, promotional strategies, and operational readiness.
- Collaborate with Replenishment and Inbound teams to address stock availability problems and achieve category in-stock targets.
- Develop and update dashboards and reports that support weekly and monthly business reviews of category performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in data analysis with capability to derive actionable insights influencing decisions.
- Proficient English communication skills, both oral and written, ensuring effective interaction with stakeholders at various organizational levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently and efficiently.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in category management, buying, retail merchandising, or related commercial roles.
Preferred Credentials
- Experience collaborating across multiple departments.
- Background in e-commerce, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), or grocery retail category management.
- Understanding of quick commerce or on-demand delivery models.
- Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in Excel or SQL for independent data extraction and interpretation.
- Knowledge of Saudi or GCC retail market dynamics and consumer behaviors.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
