Job Overview
Beca invites an experienced procurement professional to join as Category Manager - Delivery & People, leading procurement activities for a varied portfolio including project delivery, personnel services, health and safety, and innovation initiatives. This role partners with internal teams to strategise categories, enhance supplier performance, mitigate risks, and generate commercial value essential to Beca's operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute robust category management strategies that yield commercial benefits and improve supplier relations.
- Lead end-to-end procurement processes, covering market analysis, sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier relationship management internationally.
- Collaborate with multiple departments such as Delivery Practice, People & Culture, Health & Safety, Finance, Innovation, and Clients & Markets to align procurement with business needs.
- Govern procurement practices, embedding best practices, governance, and the use of Oracle Fusion to optimize supplier value and internal processes.
- Provide thought leadership as the category expert by monitoring market trends, supply chain health, and supporting sustainability and social procurement goals.
Candidate Profile
- Proven competence in commercial negotiation and category management across relevant sectors like people-related services, professional services, project delivery, or health and safety.
- Experience managing supplier relationships, performance, and contractual compliance, including procurement risk and due diligence.
- Ability to analyze spending data, build business cases, and model cost savings or avoidance.
- Strong understanding of sustainability initiatives, social procurement, supplier diversity, and combating modern slavery.
- Familiarity with procurement or enterprise systems, preferably Oracle Fusion or equivalent platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
