Role Overview

The Casino Shift Manager will operate from MGA’s largest and newest casino in Accra, Ghana. This role requires full-time onsite presence with relocation to Accra mandatory. The manager is accountable for ensuring efficient, secure, and professional casino floor operations during assigned shifts, overseeing gaming staff, compliance with regulatory and internal policies, and delivering impeccable customer service alongside game integrity and security.

The position involves close coordination with multiple departments—including Tables, Slots, Surveillance, Security, Cash Desk, Finance, Guest Relations, Marketing, and Food & Beverage—to maximize operational excellence, revenue, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all activities on the casino floor throughout assigned shifts.
  • Provide leadership and support to dealers, inspectors, pit staff, slot attendants, and other operational employees.
  • Lead shift briefings to communicate operational priorities, promotional events, VIP guest information, and special happenings.
  • Oversee table games and electronic gaming machine operations ensuring accuracy and fairness in adherence to company and regulatory standards.
  • Enforce high standards for game protection, casino security, responsible gambling, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and enhance customer service quality to ensure a welcoming, professional guest experience.
  • Address guest concerns, complaints, and disputes with calmness, fairness, and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with Surveillance and Security teams to identify and address any suspicious activities or risks.
  • Ensure accurate financial transactions and controls by working closely with Cash Desk and Finance teams.
  • Support management of VIP and high-value player activities for optimal customer engagement.
  • Assist in implementing casino promotions, tournaments, special events, and loyalty programs.
  • Review staffing levels, operational metrics, and gaming activity during the shift for continuous improvement.
  • Plan and communicate staff scheduling, breaks, and shift rotations effectively.
  • Manage attendance, conduct, presentation, and performance of employees.
  • Participate in recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and induction of new casino personnel.
  • Deliver coaching, ongoing training, and performance feedback to staff.
  • Identify development needs and support initiatives to enhance technical expertise and customer service capabilities.
  • Resolve operational challenges efficiently and escalate serious issues to senior management as necessary.
  • Prepare thorough shift summaries, incident logs, and handover reports.
  • Ensure clear channels of communication throughout shifts and between departments.
  • Contribute to policy, procedure, and standard operating practice evaluations and improvements.
  • Assist senior management with revenue growth, cost management, and operational strategy.
  • Maintain a clean, professional, secure casino floor environment ready for guests at all times.
  • Perform any additional operational duties assigned by senior leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least five years in a Casino Shift Manager role or a similar senior casino operations position.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory expertise, including team management, shift coordination, and performance monitoring.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of casino operational functions encompassing table games, electronic machines, control systems, and procedures.
  • Experience managing casino teams in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
  • Strong understanding of game protection, surveillance coordination, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated skills in delivering excellent customer service, conflict resolution, and fostering inviting gaming atmospheres.
  • Experience liaising with VIPs and high-roller players professionally and discreetly.
  • Background in staff training, coaching, and talent development.
  • Involvement in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and building diverse, high-performing teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with interpersonal effectiveness at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail under pressure.
  • High ethical standards, confidentiality, professionalism, and personal grooming.
  • Good computer proficiency and experience in preparing operational reports.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Ghanaian gaming laws is beneficial but not essential.
  • International casino experience and multicultural team collaboration are advantageous.
  • Relevant qualifications in casino management, hospitality, business administration, or related fields are preferred.
