Cashier

Position Overview

The role of a Cashier is pivotal in delivering quick, friendly, accurate, and secure service to customers. This includes handling Checkout and Return transactions and maintaining the Self-Checkout stations effectively. Cashiers are encouraged to enhance their product and project knowledge to better assist customers and identify opportunities for sales, all while adhering to policies that reduce shrinkage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct checkout and return transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain and monitor Self-Checkout areas to ensure smooth operation.
• Continuously acquire product and project knowledge to inform and assist customers.
• Adhere to company policies to minimize inventory shrink.

Head Cashier Role

A Head Cashier supports the cashier team by:

• Assigning positions to Cashiers on shifts.
• Facilitating price checks and approving point-of-sale transactions and markdowns across various sections including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
• Serving as the initial escalation point for customer issues.
• Assisting in supervising, coaching, and training Front End Associates.
• Participating actively in onboarding new Cashiers and using coaching tools for development.
