Job Overview
The role of a Cashier is vital in delivering swift, friendly, accurate, and secure customer service. Cashiers handle checkout and return transactions, and they also oversee the Self-Checkout stations ensuring smooth operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform customer checkout and return procedures efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain and supervise Self-Checkout areas to assist customers and ensure proper use.
- Continuously enhance product and project knowledge to guide customers and recognize sales opportunities.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies to reduce loss and shrinkage.
- Head Cashiers lead by assigning duties to other Cashiers and aiding with price checks and processing approvals for various point-of-sale transactions including main registers, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Provide first-level support for customer complaints and concerns.
- Support the training, coaching, and development of Front End team members by helping onboard new Cashiers and using available resources for staff coaching.
Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of one year’s experience working as a Cashier is preferred, especially for those aiming to be Head Cashiers.
