Job description
Role Overview
Cashiers serve a vital customer service function by delivering prompt, friendly, accurate, and secure transaction processing. They handle checkout and return transactions and oversee the Self-Checkout area. Cashiers actively gain product and project knowledge to better inform customers and identify potential sales opportunities. They adhere to all company policies and procedures to help reduce losses due to shrinkage.
Leadership and Support Responsibilities
Head Cashiers are responsible for positioning Cashiers and supporting them through actions such as expediting price checks and authorizing Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various service points including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. They act as the initial escalation point for customer concerns and play a role in supervising, coaching, and training Front End Associates. This includes participation in the onboarding of new Cashiers and using available tools to foster skill development among team members.
Qualification
The ideal candidate for the Head Cashier role possesses at least one year of experience working as a Cashier.
