Position Overview
Joining Walmart Canada as a Cashier offers valuable experience in the retail sector. This role centers on delivering outstanding customer service during checkout to foster customer loyalty. The Cashier also plays a key role in safeguarding company assets with vigilant attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome every customer with politeness and friendliness.
- Efficiently handle all purchase transactions, ensuring proper deactivation of merchandise in line with the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) Program.
- Inform customers about company-sponsored programs including credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable campaigns.
- Help customers by bagging and loading their purchased items.
- Observe safe working practices such as correct lifting techniques and maintaining a tidy work environment.
- Maintain the security and accuracy of the cash register by carefully managing cash, complying with company policies, and staying alert to surroundings.
- When necessary, direct service or transactional concerns to a Customer Service Manager.
Compensation
The starting wage for this Cashier role begins at $16.15 per hour.
