Cashier

Job Overview

The cashier plays an essential role in delivering fast, courteous, accurate, and secure service to customers. They handle checkout and return transactions and supervise the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth operation.

Responsibilities

• Process customer purchases and returns efficiently and accurately.
• Oversee and maintain the Self-Checkout stations to facilitate customer ease.
• Continuously enhance product and project knowledge to provide helpful information and identify sales opportunities for customers.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures to reduce shrinkage.
• Support front-line associates by participating in the training and coaching of new and current cashiers.

Head Cashier Role

• Assign positions to Cashiers and offer assistance by expediting price checks and authorizing Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various points of sale including main registers and special service areas.
• Serve as first point of escalation for customer service challenges.
• Assist in supervising, mentoring, and developing other front end staff members.

Qualifications

The preferred candidate for Head Cashier has at least one year of experience working as a cashier.
