Position Overview

Working as a Cashier at Walmart Canada offers an excellent opportunity to build your expertise in retail and customer service. The role primarily involves delivering outstanding service during checkout to foster customer loyalty. A Cashier also plays a crucial role in safeguarding company assets by maintaining vigilance and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers with politeness and friendliness.
• Efficiently and accurately handle purchase transactions including deactivating merchandise according to the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) program.
• Promote company-sponsored programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives.
• Assist customers with packing and loading their purchased items.
• Follow safe work procedures, including correct lifting techniques and maintaining cleanliness in the work area.
• Maintain cash register security and transactional integrity by carefully handling cash, complying with company policies, and staying aware of the surroundings.
• Refer appropriate customer requests and transaction inquiries to the Customer Service Manager.

Compensation

The base wage for this position begins at $18.40 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
