Job description
Overview
Cashiers are essential team members responsible for delivering prompt, courteous, and precise service to customers during checkout and return transactions. They also oversee the Self-Checkout stations to ensure smooth operation and customer satisfaction. In addition to handling transactions, Cashiers actively enhance their product and project knowledge to better assist customers and identify sales opportunities while adhering strictly to store policies to minimize loss.
Head Cashier Role
The Head Cashier supports the team by managing Cashier positioning and assisting with expediting price verifications, approving transactions and markdowns across various service points including main registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. This position serves as the initial point of escalation for customer concerns and contributes to the development and training of fellow Front End Associates by coaching new Cashiers and utilizing available resources for team growth.
Qualifications
A minimum of one year of experience as a Cashier is preferred for those aspiring to or filling the Head Cashier role.
