Position Overview

Working as a Cashier at Walmart Canada offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your retail and customer service skills. This role involves delivering outstanding service during checkout, helping build customer loyalty, and actively preventing losses by maintaining a strong attention to detail.

Primary Duties

• Warmly greet all customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Efficiently and quickly handle purchase transactions, including proper deactivation of merchandise according to the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) program.
• Advocate for company-sponsored programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives.
• Support customers by assisting with bagging and loading their items.
• Adhere to safe work standards, including appropriate lifting techniques and maintaining cleanliness of the workstation.
• Ensure the security and accuracy of the cash register by diligently managing cash, following company guidelines, and staying alert to surroundings.
• Refer service or transaction issues to a Customer Service Manager as needed.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $18.40 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
