As a Train Traffic Controller, you operate in the signal control center. From this position, you navigate train operations ensuring safe, punctual, and smooth railway traffic.

We are recruiting as soon as possible for career changers for the role of Train Traffic Controller (m/f/d) within DB InfraGO AG at locations including Bad Lobenstein, Eisfeld, Freyburg (Unstrut), Ilmenau, Laucha an der Unstrut, Ringleben, Schmalkalden, Straußfurt, Wetterzeube, or Wünschendorf/Elster.

Retraining Details

• The retraining occurs full-time (39 hours per week) including both theoretical and practical training segments.
• Theoretical instruction takes place at one of our regional training centers, while practical assignments are arranged close to your residence when feasible.
• Training cohorts typically comprise around 12 participants.

Post-Training Responsibilities

• You will control train traffic at small to large signal boxes using levers, push-buttons, and rotary switches.
• You will set routes (paths, switches, signals) to enable safe train departures, for example from stations.
• Monitoring operations within stations also forms part of your duties.
• You will communicate and coordinate regularly with colleagues in the signal boxes, train drivers, and control centers.

Candidate Profile

• You have completed vocational training successfully in fields such as retail sales, restaurant service, bakery sales, or office administration.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• You maintain calm and keep a clear overview even in stressful situations.
• Strong teamwork skills and a readiness to take responsibility are necessary.
• You are willing to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, while maintaining your own work-life balance.
