About the Role
We are currently looking for a dedicated Captain to guide tug operations at the Port of Kingston, Jamaica. This position involves executing tow maneuvers proficiently, leading a crew effectively, and managing vessel maintenance to high standards. The role requires onsite presence and offers scheduling flexibility within a 48-hour work window over seven days.
Responsibilities
- Navigate vessels following company protocols and industry standards.
- Lead and manage the crew while enforcing health and safety policies.
- Supervise the application of the company’s maintenance programs to ensure operational efficiency.
- Ensure proper oversight and management of assigned equipment and assets.
- Actively participate and support the Health, Safety, and Environment Management System activities.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Possess at least a Master 500 Gross Tonnage Domestic Certificate.
- Hold a current valid medical certificate and Marine Advanced First Aid training certificate.
- Have a minimum of three to five years experience as a Tug Captain.
- Prior experience operating Z-Drive vessels is required.
- Demonstrated strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Experience working in the Port of Kingston is considered a plus.
