Job description
Position Overview
The Captain-Bellstand plays a pivotal role in greeting guests, showcasing property amenities, and providing information about local attractions and services. The role includes assisting guests entering and leaving the property by opening doors and handling luggage storage and transportation. Importantly, this position also coordinates transportation services and manages bell and valet staff dispatches to ensure smooth guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome guests and inform them about property features, operating hours, and nearby activities.
- Assist guests with luggage storage, retrieval, and transportation between guest rooms and designated areas.
- Help guests with vehicle entry and exit, including loading and unloading luggage.
- Provide guests with directions and arrange transportation such as taxis, limousines, or shuttle services.
- Dispatch bell or valet staff as required and communicate parking procedures to guests.
- Follow up with guests to ensure their concerns or requests have been addressed satisfactorily.
- Act as a role model within the department and support management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
- Maintain professional appearance and uphold company policies and confidentiality standards.
- Stay alert to potentially undesirable individuals on the property.
- Engage guests by anticipating their service needs, assisting persons with disabilities, and providing sincere appreciation upon departure.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and colleagues, including via phone etiquette.
- Comply with quality standards and safety protocols, reporting accidents or unsafe conditions promptly.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting (up to 50 pounds independently, heavier with assistance), moving over uneven surfaces, and maintaining mobility throughout shifts.
- Carry out additional reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum education: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Relevant workplace experience of at least one year.
- Less than one year of supervisory experience preferred.
- No specific licenses or certifications required.
