CAD Technician

Job Overview

This full-time, on-site position located in the Abu Dhabi Emirate, UAE, calls for an Autocad Drafter who will be responsible for producing and updating detailed technical and architectural drawings, as well as shop drawings used in civil, MEP, and infrastructure projects. The role involves interpreting design and engineering inputs, as well as field information, to generate accurate and compliant drawing packages, supporting construction and installation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and revise technical drawings, including shop drawings, for civil, infrastructure, and MEP works consistent with project standards.
• Develop and adjust architectural layouts for industrial, commercial, and residential developments.
• Collaborate with engineers, site teams, and project managers to ensure drawings meet design specifications and project requirements.
• Maintain and archive drawing records and revisions systematically.
• Support construction teams with detailed and clear plans for effective implementation.
• Ensure adherence to quality, safety protocols, and timely submission of drawing packages in line with project schedules.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Competence in producing precise technical and general drawings aligned with engineering and project standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD software with strong 2D drafting experience and familiarity with 3D modeling techniques preferred.
• Experience in creating shop drawings relevant to civil, infrastructure, and MEP disciplines.
• Understanding of architectural basics to convert design concepts into feasible construction drawings.
• Knowledge of construction practices, standards, and drawing conventions within infrastructure, MEP, and telecom sectors.
• High attention to detail, accuracy in dimensions and annotations, and capability to handle multiple revisions.
• Effective communication skills for team coordination and reporting.
• Relevant diploma or degree in civil engineering, architectural drafting, or a related technical field; professional certifications are advantageous.
• Prior experience as an AutoCAD drafter in UAE or GCC infrastructure projects is mandatory.
