Cabinetmaker

Overview

This position involves skilled woodworking in a custom cabinet and millwork shop environment. Candidates are expected to operate various woodworking machinery and work onsite in Mississauga, Ontario.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate woodworking equipment including power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers to accurately cut and shape parts.
• Interpret plans, specifications, and drawings to construct accurate furniture and cabinetry.
• Trim and fit parts and subassemblies meticulously to assemble completed units and reinforce joints.
• Sand surfaces and apply veneers, stains, polishes, or laminated plastics to finished pieces.
• Keep the workspace clean and maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent practical experience.
• Previous woodworking or cabinetmaking experience is beneficial but not mandatory.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Employment is strictly onsite at the physical workshop location, with no remote working option.
• Must possess good manual dexterity and pay close attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods while working.

Tools and Personal Traits

• Steel-toed safety boots are required for safety compliance.
