Job Overview
We seek a skilled Cabinet Maker / Joiner to join a thriving commercial joinery company based in South-West Sydney. This permanent, full-time role offers an annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000 plus superannuation, with hourly pay rates between $40 and $50.
Role Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble premium commercial and architectural joinery based on detailed plans.
- Interpret architectural and joinery drawings accurately.
- Produce cabinetry, counters, vanities, workstations, lockers, and custom joinery.
- Cut, assemble, and finish components with high precision and quality.
- Handle materials such as laminates, veneers, timber, and other joinery supplies.
- Operate machinery and power tools safely and effectively.
- Support CNC manufacturing and automated production processes when needed.
- Ensure quality control throughout the manufacturing stages.
- Collaborate closely with production management and team members.
- Prepare completed products for delivery and installation, including packaging.
- Occasionally travel to Sydney sites for onsite installation and fit-offs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
- Adhere to deadlines while ensuring superior workmanship.
Candidate Profile
- Trade qualification in Cabinetmaking, Joinery, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in commercial joinery or cabinetmaking.
- Strong proficiency in reading workshop drawings and architectural plans.
- Proven experience creating custom cabinetry and joinery.
- Thorough understanding of joinery construction techniques.
- Experienced in working with laminates, veneers, and similar materials.
- Competent use of hand and power tools.
- High attention to detail, reliability, and good time management.
- Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Capability to manage workloads and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
Additional Advantageous Skills
- Experience with CNC machinery and nesting.
- Familiarity with Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, Pytha, CAD/CAM software.
- Background in commercial shopfitting, architectural joinery, and end-of-trip facilities.
- Exposure to commercial office, retail, hospitality fitouts, and solid-surface fabrication.
- Experience with onsite installation tasks.
Projects and Work Environment
Work involves diverse commercial and architectural joinery projects across Sydney, including corporate office fitouts, commercial workspaces, end-of-trip facilities, retail and hospitality venues, bespoke architectural interiors, commercial cabinetry, lockers, and some high-end residential joinery. The company handles projects ranging from smaller bespoke packages to major commercial contracts exceeding $1 million.
Working Schedule
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, totaling 38 hours per week. Overtime may be available based on project requirements. Occasional travel to multiple commercial sites across Sydney is expected.
