Overview
This role represents the airline's ambassador, responsible for fostering customer loyalty and portraying a positive company image by enhancing the overall passenger experience. The cabin crew member ensures high-quality customer service while maintaining passenger safety and comfort throughout the entire flight cycle. The individual must be physically fit and prepared to maintain productivity aligned with company policies and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain punctuality, proper grooming, and fitness standards, and ensure all travel documentation is valid for designated flights. Participate in pre-flight briefings to understand flight details, assigned roles, targets, security procedures, and boarding guidelines.
- Provide clear safety instructions to passengers to ensure their well-being and comfort during the flight.
- Identify and report safety and security risks in collaboration with the Cabin Supervisor, implementing corrective actions according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Administer first aid to passengers if necessary.
- Communicate promptly any irregularities or malfunctions to the Cabin Supervisor, Flight Crew, and Captain.
- Welcome passengers and assist with boarding formalities, accurately recording required information in the aircraft logbook per airline and aviation authority protocols.
- Offer attentive customer service by addressing passengers’ pre-bookings, requests, and specific needs.
- Support passengers experiencing stress or challenges in accordance with operational policies and manuals.
- Promote onboard sales including meals, products, and charity programs to meet individual and team revenue goals; securely manage cash and credit transactions related to sales and donations.
- Conduct pre-flight inspections to verify the availability of supplies, emergency and catering equipment; report shortages to appropriate supervisors.
- Assist in ensuring cabins are thoroughly cleaned during transit stops and restocked with catering and duty-free merchandise before subsequent flights.
- Manage proper handover and takeover procedures with catering, cleaning, and maintenance teams.
- Complete post-flight briefings and assessments, providing evaluations of operations and reporting any issues encountered during flight, including duty-free container management.
- Report passenger conduct to the Cabin Supervisor and fulfill Cabin Supervisor duties when appointed by the Captain.
- Maintain professional knowledge by attending recurrent trainings on emergency procedures and workshops, and keep certifications current.
- Contribute actively to achieving team goals and sales objectives during flights.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum education of a Diploma or Higher Secondary Certificate; qualifications in Travel or Tourism are advantageous.
- Additional training in First Aid, Safety, and Emergency Procedures is beneficial.
- Physically fit with no severe medical conditions or chronic illnesses.
- Must present a well-groomed, friendly appearance with a positive and cheerful demeanor, even in stressful situations.
- Customer service oriented, able to effectively address and fulfill passengers' needs and requests.
- Skilled in managing difficult or irate customers without damaging the corporate image.
- Alert and capable of recognizing irregularities, handling threats, and managing emergencies efficiently to ensure positive outcomes.
- Proactive, motivated, and demonstrates teamwork and initiative.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, proficient in English; additional languages are an asset depending on airline demands.
- Strong time management and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience
- Applications from fresh graduates are welcomed.
- Previous experience as cabin crew or in customer service within airlines, aviation, or hospitality sectors is highly regarded.
- Holding an active cabin crew license is an advantage.
- Willingness and ability to work shifts, including extended hours.
- Adaptable to dynamic schedules and high workload environments.
- Ability to comply with policies and meet key performance indicators (KPIs) effectively.
