Job description
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Buyer / Purchasing Agent to support electrical construction projects by ensuring timely and efficient procurement of materials and services. This non-exempt role operates within the COINS procurement system and involves constant communication with vendors and internal teams to maintain smooth Purchase-to-Pay operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle material and service requisitions by creating purchase orders (POs).
- Record and reconcile goods receipt notes (GRNs) accurately.
- Review and approve invoices, resolving any issues within the COINS system.
- Manage processing and tracking of credit memos.
- Monitor open purchase orders to identify incomplete or uncommitted orders.
- Liaise with vendors to clarify pricing, availability, and address discrepancies.
- Obtain and assess quotes for non-standard materials to ensure competitive procurement.
- Support new vendor onboarding and maintain vendor records effectively.
- Assist field teams by providing guidance on procurement system usage.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least five years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles.
- Prior work experience in construction or electrical industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP or procurement platforms, ideally COINS.
- Competent in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organization, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills.
- Capability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work setting.
