Job description

Role Overview

We are looking for a meticulous, analytical, and process-focused Buyer II to join our team for a temporary period of three months, with the possibility of extension. This position is based full-time onsite at Mt Wellington, Auckland, supporting a dynamic team in a sophisticated manufacturing and engineering setting. The incumbent will play a critical role in refining order processes, resolving operational backlogs, and maintaining seamless project timelines.

Key Duties

  • Efficiently initiate, monitor, and manage purchase orders, ensuring policy compliance and accuracy throughout.
  • Maintain regular communication with suppliers to track lead times and order progress, ensuring timely delivery for projects.
  • Manage and update Excel databases to analyze order processes, generate reports to identify bottlenecks, and facilitate process improvements.
  • Contribute to optimizing procurement procedures to reduce administrative backlogs and boost the efficiency of the procurement team.
  • Collaborate across departments such as engineering, production, and accounts to address delivery delays and resolve invoice issues swiftly.

Candidate Profile

  • At least 3 years of experience in procurement support, supply chain analytics, operations coordination, or project assistance, ideally within manufacturing or a technical field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data tracking, reporting, and spreadsheet formatting, paired with a strong analytical and logical problem-solving aptitude.
  • A proactive self-starter who consistently takes initiative, follows up rigorously, and seeks continuous workflow improvements.
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills, particularly when managing extensive data sets.
  • Educational background or qualifications in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience highly valued.
