Role Overview
The Butcher Assistant role is a full-time, on-location position in Al Khobar that supports the daily meat preparation activities for Mathaqat’s restaurants and catering operations. Responsibilities include assisting with cutting, trimming, portioning, and packaging meat and poultry items aligned with defined standards and menu specifications. The assistant ensures adherence to hygiene and safety protocols, manages proper storage and labeling, and aids in quality control to satisfy company guidelines. Additional duties involve restocking displays, liaising with kitchen and service teams, and providing courteous interactions with customers or internal stakeholders as needed. The incumbent works collaboratively with senior butchers and supervisors to maintain smooth workflow and compliance with Mathaqat’s quality and service expectations.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in basic butchery tasks such as cutting, trimming, portioning, and handling meat products.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities to effectively engage with team members and guests.
- Firm understanding and implementation of hygiene and food safety standards, including sanitation, proper storage, and safe handling.
- Attention to detail for quality control in product appearance, accurate labeling, and consistency.
- Previous experience working in a butcher shop, meat department, restaurant kitchen, or catering environment is highly advantageous.
- Capability to stand for long durations, safely perform manual duties, and comply with operational and health regulations.
- Basic familiarity with inventory management and record-keeping related to meat products is beneficial.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and busy periods while collaborating within a diverse team setting.
