Job description
Job Overview
The Business Processing & Compliance Officer will coordinate business processing activities and provide support to ensure efficient and effective operational compliance in line with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Process new and renewal insurance policies according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and established guidelines.
- Prepare data upload files including Benefit setup and Member upload, ensuring correct benefit configurations for corporate schemes and retail policies.
- Handle claims processing from service providers, address invoice reconciliation challenges identified by finance, including stuck invoices and resubmissions.
- Manage reimbursements and endorsements as per SLA timelines.
- Conduct system testing, validate process changes, innovate procedures, and provide training to colleagues as necessary.
- Perform quality assurance on claims data to minimize reconciliation issues and prevent losses from fraudulent claims.
- Maintain customer data quality and compliance across all operations.
- Reconcile scheme data and maintain client information, particularly for renewals and new business policies.
- Create master policies and facilitate the conversion process for new retail insurance policies.
- Process retail policies and coordinate with finance regarding premium receipts and allocation.
- Prepare and request medical cards within specified Turn Around Time (TAT) and keep accurate records of issued and requested cards.
- Compile and present departmental and business reports, including daily and monthly summaries.
- Ensure consistent internal and external communication regarding customer service matters, supporting the company’s customer experience strategy.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline.
- Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience in a comparable role.
- Progress towards professional insurance qualifications such as ACII, FLMI, or IIK.
- Proficient in computer use, particularly Microsoft Office suite and Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
Technical and Functional Competences
- Understanding of insurance regulatory frameworks and product knowledge.
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Result-driven with problem-solving abilities.
- Consistent adherence to established policies, processes, and tools to maintain compliance and efficiency.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for managing expectations of internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with the ability to foster open communication, teamwork, and a customer-focused culture.
- Proactive approach to ensure timely completion of daily responsibilities and related tasks.
