Business Development Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Business Development Specialist to be part of the APC Technical Solutions team at NZ Safety Blackwoods. This role supports a well-established customer base throughout the Lower North Island, representing top-tier brands in Gas Detection, Flow Control, Instrumentation, and Hose & Fittings. The position focuses on both nurturing existing customer relationships and uncovering new avenues for long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Accelerate sales and profitability across the Lower North Island area.
• Manage and expand a loyal customer portfolio ensuring service continuity.
• Provide expert technical support and collaborate with internal teams on joint client engagements.
• Coach non-technical colleagues to enhance lead generation effectiveness.
• Design and implement strategies to meet sales objectives.
• Lead requests for proposals, negotiate contracts, and deliver compelling client presentations.
• Assess customer requirements and deliver customized technical solutions.
• Ensure CRM data is current and proactively manage the sales pipeline.
• Comply with company policies and maintain safety standards.

Candidate Profile

• At least five years of experience in technical sales or account management.
• Specific experience with Gas Detection or Flow Control products is essential.
• Strong skills in consultative selling and negotiation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and grow customer relationships.
• High-level communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent organizational, proactive, and self-driven work ethic.
• Relevant tertiary qualification preferred, particularly in engineering or electrical fields.

Additional Information
