About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and goal-oriented Business Development Representative to join a growing financial software company located in Central London. This role is ideal for someone experienced in outbound sales and cold calling who thrives on connecting with decision-makers to generate new leads and foster a strong sales pipeline. Collaborating closely with the Head of Sales and Senior Sales Executive, you will take charge of identifying new business opportunities across the EMEA, APAC, and USA markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire lead generation cycle from first outreach through to opportunity qualification.
- Conduct outbound calls to prospective clients in EMEA, APAC, and the USA.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior decision-makers in asset management, investment firms, and family offices.
- Engage prospects through various channels such as phone, email, and LinkedIn.
- Assess prospects based on their requirements, compatibility, and potential for engagement.
- Schedule high-quality product demonstrations for the sales team.
- Keep the CRM system accurate and current, utilizing Pipedrive for tracking activity and opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Head of Sales to refine messaging, sales tactics, and share market insights.
- Consistently pursue monthly and weekly activity targets and demonstration goals.
Targets and Incentives
- Primary target: achieving 12 qualified demonstrations monthly (about 3 weekly), validated by the sales team as legitimate prospects fitting customer profiles with budget and need.
- Monthly bonus of £400 awarded for meeting the 12-demo target, with the option to receive the bonus as a non-taxable voucher.
- Additional discretionary rewards available for high-quality demos that progress to trials.
- Possibility to earn 5% commission on software sales for contracts spanning 1 and 2 years as you transition into a sales role.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated success in cold calling and outbound sales activities.
- Proven experience in lead generation and booking meetings or product demos.
- Comfortable and effective in phone-based communication with prospects.
- Proficient in using several prospecting platforms, including phone, email, and LinkedIn.
- Experienced with CRM software; familiarity with Pipedrive is a plus.
- Excellent spoken and written communication abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Resilient attitude with capacity to handle rejection constructively.
- Driven to meet defined KPIs and targets consistently.
- Flexible and proactive approach to sales challenges.
Experience in financial services is an advantage but not mandatory. Prior exposure to selling software, SaaS, fintech, or other B2B products will be considered beneficial.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary ranging between £30,000 and £40,000 annually.
- Monthly bonus of £400 for achieving demonstration targets.
- Extra discretionary bonuses for exceptional sales opportunities.
- Opportunity to advance into a sales role with commission earnings.
- 24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Private pension scheme participation.
- Cycle to Work program.
- Access to Perkbox benefits.
- Central London office location with hybrid work options after probation.
- Exposure to international markets including EMEA, APAC, and the USA.
- Clear career growth potential within an expanding financial software organization.
