Job description
Overview
If you are embarking on your sales career and want a role where your efforts directly influence the creation of sales pipeline, meetings, and earning potential, this opportunity with Hubexo in Newcastle upon Tyne is an ideal fit. This position is a Business Development Representative role focused on pioneering new business opportunities within the NBS Specifier team. It involves engaging with architects, architectural technologists, design consultants, and other construction professionals to demonstrate how NBS solutions can enhance specification and design workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate qualified new business leads through proactive outbound prospecting activities.
- Conduct in-depth research to identify prospective clients and appropriate decision-makers.
- Communicate with potential customers via phone, email, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other digital platforms.
- Gain understanding of customer challenges, their specification processes, and commercial requirements.
- Qualify and vet opportunities before passing them on to Business Development Managers.
- Arrange meetings, product demonstrations, and discussions related to commercial aspects.
- Maintain accurate and current customer records within the CRM system.
- Contribute towards meeting activity, opportunity generation, and pipeline targets.
- Share valuable customer feedback and market insights with Sales and Marketing teams.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be curious, commercially aware, and confident in initiating conversations with new contacts. Whether you have prior experience as a BDR, SDR, or in lead generation and sales roles, or are eager to progress in sales, you should be comfortable making cold calls, asking insightful questions, and establishing credibility with senior professionals.
- Enjoy transforming cold prospects into warm leads.
- Appreciate working towards clear performance goals and enjoy being rewarded accordingly.
- Demonstrate resilience, proactivity, and thrive in a new business development environment.
- Take ownership of outcomes rather than passively waiting for leads.
- Have motivation to build commercial skills within a specialist technology company.
- Be driven by the potential for earnings through on-target earnings and uncapped commissions.
Preferred Experience
- Previous roles as a Business Development Representative, Sales Development Representative, or similar sales position.
- Experience in telesales, lead generation, or outbound sales functions.
- Customer-facing sales or account growth experience.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
- Background or interest in construction, architecture, specification, or the built environment sectors.
Additional Information
You do not need prior expertise in the construction specification market from the start. What is most important is curiosity, confidence, willingness to learn, and a strong motivation to generate business opportunities.
This role offers the chance to gain valuable sales experience in a specialist commercial team within a well-established construction technology firm. You will refine your skills in prospecting, qualifying leads, managing CRM data, engaging in customer conversations, and building sales pipelines, while collaborating with a commercially-oriented team and a defined client base.
If you are eager to grow your sales career through new business development and engaging customer interactions, this position invites your application.
