About HSI
HSI is a worldwide leader providing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance training, workforce development, and workplace safety solutions. Our diverse brands and product offerings enable organizations to foster safer, smarter, and more compliant work environments. Leveraging cutting-edge technology and a commitment to protecting people and businesses, we are rapidly expanding across the EMEA region and invite you to advance your career alongside us.
Role Overview
We seek a Business Development Representative (BDR) dedicated to outbound prospecting. This role centers exclusively on outbound sales development focused on identifying, engaging, and creating new business opportunities throughout the UK and Ireland. Our solutions are complex, requiring detailed, discovery-driven cold outreach targeting mid-to-senior level decision-makers.
You will be the initial contact point for prospective customers, initiating conversations, cultivating relationships, and scheduling qualified meetings that drive our sales funnel. If you thrive in a resilient, inquisitive, result-oriented environment, this position offers a significant opportunity to influence company growth and progress in SaaS sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct extensive research to discover and connect with potential new accounts within target sectors.
- Execute high-volume and high-quality outbound prospecting through calls, emails, LinkedIn engagements, and post-event follow-ups.
- Qualify prospects by identifying needs and arrange discovery calls and demonstrations for Account Executives.
- Build early trust and credibility by engaging decision-makers and positioning HSI as a reliable partner for EHS and compliance solutions.
- Utilize Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and intent data to prioritize outreach and tailor communications.
- Maintain engagement with prospects, rekindling past opportunities to sustain momentum in the sales pipeline.
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing teams to enhance campaign effectiveness and expedite deal closures.
- Ensure accurate tracking of all activities and progress in Salesforce for seamless workflow management.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 2 years' experience in outbound sales development, business development, or a comparable role within B2B SaaS.
- Legal authorization to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship.
- Experience in EHS, compliance, or safety technology sectors is advantageous.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with confidence engaging senior-level stakeholders.
- Demonstrated resilience and competitiveness, motivated by developing pipelines from the ground up.
- Curious and consultative approach enabling intelligent questioning to reveal client challenges.
- Proficiency with Salesforce and familiarity with sales engagement tools.
- Driven by activity and opportunity goals with proven success exceeding targets.
Employee Benefits & Perks
- Influence company growth and help shape HSI's future across the UK and Ireland.
- Defined career pathways progressing into Account Executive and senior sales positions.
- Continuous training covering sales techniques, product knowledge, and industry insights to support your development.
- A cooperative, encouraging, and high-energy workplace culture.
- Meaningful work contributing to safer, healthier, and more compliant workplaces globally.
- Bupa Private Health Insurance and reward schemes.
- Options for hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
- Enhanced family leave policies.
- Financial support for tuition and professional development.
- Annual birthday leave.
- Generous paid leave starting at 25 days, increasing with tenure.
- Mental health and wellness assistance through Wisdom Employee Assistance Program.
- Regular team social events fostering collaboration.
