Role Overview
We are looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our Sales team in Melbourne. This role involves handling initial contact with prospective merchants through inbound calls, web inquiries, and reaching out to Marketing Qualified Leads. You will perform thorough discovery calls to understand businesses’ objectives and challenges to determine if Zeller’s offerings meet their needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Advancing Zeller's sales pipeline by qualifying inbound and marketing leads as well as sourcing new opportunities.
- Conducting exploratory discussions with prospects to qualify sales leads prior to handing them over to Account Executives.
- Engaging potential clients proactively using cold calls, email, and LinkedIn strategies.
- Developing and refining outreach approaches, lead-generation playbooks, and qualification standards to exceed goals and ensure excellent client experience.
- Coordinating meetings between qualified leads and Account Executives with a warm introduction.
- Analyzing market opportunities to target growth areas and compiling detailed lead lists.
- Keeping informed about trends affecting SMEs, payments, technology, competitors, and relevant business insights.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum one year of experience in roles such as Sales Development Representative, Business Development Representative, Customer Success, or Product Onboarding Specialist.
- Proficient with various prospecting methods, including cold calling and outreach.
- Demonstrable track record of meeting sales or activity objectives.
- Experience using CRM software like Hubspot or Salesforce.
- Strong communication skills—oral, written, and listening.
- Skilled at identifying target customers, qualifying leads, and understanding buying processes.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities and collaborative work approach.
Work Environment and Benefits
This position is based in Melbourne CBD, with an expectation of approximately four days onsite and one day working from home per week.
