Business Development Representative

About the Role

Field Effect, an expanding cybersecurity firm, is seeking a motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to fuel growth by generating new business leads for our Managed Detection & Response platform. As the initial contact in our sales funnel, this position is crucial in cultivating our partner pipeline and driving sales success.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and reach out to decision makers in targeted sectors such as managed service providers (MSPs), value-added resellers (VARs), and small to mid-sized businesses.
• Set up qualified meetings for Account Executives to create promising sales pipelines and enhance revenue streams.
• Conduct intensive outreach campaigns involving 70+ calls per day.
• Meet or exceed sales quota by generating new business prospects.
• Discover client challenges and communicate how Field Effect’s cybersecurity solutions address them effectively.
• Approach every sales interaction grounded in company values.
• Participate in continuous sales training, coaching sessions, and role plays guided by our sales playbook.
• Diligently maintain updated records in the CRM system.
• Track and report performance metrics weekly, monthly, and quarterly.

Technology Stack

Utilize tools such as ZoomInfo Engage, 6Sense, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Microsoft Dynamics.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in sales, business development, customer-facing, or other performance-driven roles.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building capabilities.
• Self-motivated with eagerness to learn and advance in a sales career.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Comfortable adapting to new technologies; CRM and sales tool experience preferred.
• Collaborative attitude open to learning, sharing ideas, and welcoming feedback.
• Proficiency in both English and French is highly advantageous.

Compensation

The role offers on-target earnings from CAD 75,000 to 85,000, composed of base salary plus performance-based variable pay.

Workplace and Travel

• This position starts with 5 days a week on-site training in Ottawa, transitioning to a hybrid model with at least 3 days per week on-site.
• Some travel to partner organizations and conferences is expected.
