Measure Australia, a division of the Asseti Group, is a nationwide aerial surveying and geospatial services provider. Serving sectors like infrastructure, commercial property, and resources, the company combines technical knowledge with field delivery capabilities. It collaborates with clients such as developers, asset owners, government bodies, and construction companies across multiple regions.

Role Overview

The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a key role in accelerating client acquisition. Primarily focused on outbound efforts, this position involves identifying, contacting, and qualifying potential clients within targeted industry verticals. The BDR also handles the initial response to inbound enquiries, including phone calls, website queries, and live chat interactions, ensuring prompt and professional engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform proactive outreach via phone, email, and social media to generate qualified leads across sectors including construction, infrastructure, property, resources, agriculture, and insurance.
  • Utilize curated prospect lists and conduct individual research to find appropriate contact persons such as project managers, asset managers, engineers, and operations leaders.
  • Achieve weekly and monthly targets related to call volume, meaningful conversations, and meetings booked.
  • Deliver structured outreach campaigns in coordination with go-to-market and marketing teams.
  • Serve as the initial contact for inbound enquiries from phone calls, website submissions, and live chat, ensuring rapid and effective lead qualification.
  • Qualify leads using consistent criteria, advancing suitable prospects and directing non-sales enquiries appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate records of all prospect interactions, pipeline status, and follow-up actions in the CRM system.
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand client needs, project scopes, decision timelines, and authorities.
  • Gain strong knowledge of Measure Australia's service offerings including drone mapping, LiDAR, asset inspections, and BVLOS to credibly discuss solutions with prospects.
  • Keep abreast of developments in target sectors and share market insights with internal teams.
  • Collaborate closely with General Management, operations, sales, and marketing personnel to plan outreach and review pipeline progress.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, training, and performance evaluations.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate displays a self-driven attitude with strong commercial acumen and a focus on results. While experience level is flexible, a proactive approach and strong work ethic are essential.

  • Previous experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles (e.g., outbound sales, retail, hospitality, account management).
  • High personal accountability with skill in independent time, priority, and pipeline management.
  • Effective verbal communication capable of engaging personnel across diverse seniority levels.
  • Strong written communication skills for professional email and digital correspondence.
  • Adeptness in balancing outbound prospecting and inbound query management.
  • Driven to achieve commercial performance goals.
  • Organized with consistent follow-up and discipline.
  • Tech-savvy and quick to learn new tools.
  • Resilient with a positive outlook toward the challenges of outbound sales, including handling rejection.
  • Must possess full Australian work rights.

  • Familiarity with drone technology, spatial data, or geospatial services.
  • Experience using CRM platforms like HubSpot or Salesforce.
