Your Role
We are seeking a dynamic, tech-oriented, and business-savvy sales professional to join our expanding Business Development team. As a Business Development Representative (BDR), your primary responsibility will be to generate new business opportunities by engaging in outbound prospecting and cold outreach. You will collaborate closely with Account Executives and sales leadership to secure high-value meetings. This position is based fully onsite in London and plays a significant part in our strategic sales efforts during our phase of rapid growth.
Responsibilities
- Work in partnership with the VP of Sales and Account Executives to identify prospects and schedule meetings that contribute to sales pipeline and revenue closure.
- Engage proactively with a high volume of accounts while skillfully prioritizing efforts for maximum impact.
- Develop expertise in the market by researching target industries and customer personas to tailor your approach effectively.
- Craft insightful perspectives on customer requirements and formulate appropriate qualifying questions.
- Adapt flexibly as the company evolves its sales processes and contribute to refining these workflows.
Qualifications
- Between 6 to 12 months (or equivalent) of experience in sales.
- Proven history of consistently achieving or surpassing targets.
- Strategic and critical thinker with a problem-solving orientation and adaptability.
- Ability to work onsite at our Kings Cross office five days a week initially with potential hybrid flexibility upon reaching quotas.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with sales tools such as Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo, ScratchPad, Gong, or SalesNavigator.
- Experience in fast-paced or technology-driven environments, preferably in fintech.
- Strong communication skills with attention to detail.
- Positive attitude towards change and accountability.
Onboarding and Career Progression
- Complete comprehensive training and onboarding within the first two weeks to understand the products and role expectations.
- Work with leadership to set and review personal and professional goals.
- Engage in market research, lead generation, and customer interaction activities from the first month onward.
- Meet department benchmarks for call volume and discovery calls within two months, and contribute as a mentor to new team members.
- Continuously improve skills and play a central role in Zip's growth trajectory.
