About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a prominent distributor of security and communication technology serving Australia and New Zealand. They seek an experienced Business Development Manager based in Sydney, NSW. This senior, proactive sales position requires established expertise in the Australian security sector, focusing on creating and developing business opportunities and strengthening client relationships within the security and technology community.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business prospects throughout New South Wales.
- Forge connections with consultants, builders, specifiers, designers, installers, and other important industry participants.
- Expand and nurture existing enterprise accounts, discovering opportunities to increase the company's presence.
- Formulate and implement a regional business development strategy to meet individual revenue goals.
- Generate and maintain a robust pipeline in collaboration with current accounts and CRM tools.
- Deliver engaging product demonstrations, presentations, and tailored proposals to both new and current clients.
- Work with sophisticated enterprise security solutions and complex system configurations.
- Evaluate which products and solutions best fit each project’s requirements.
- Oversee major sales opportunities from initial outreach through closing and after-sales relationship management.
- Maintain precise pipeline records and accurate sales forecasting.
- Cooperate closely with sales and technical teams across the organization.
Candidate Requirements
- At least five years of experience in the Australian security industry.
- Proven business development, technical sales, or solution selling track record.
- Good knowledge of the Australian security market and its principal stakeholders.
- Skill in generating new business and independently building a sales pipeline.
- Experience in indirect sales frameworks and handling complex B2B sales processes.
- Familiarity with IP-based technologies, networking, and security-related hardware or software.
- Strong abilities in relationship management, negotiation, presentation, and communication.
- Capacity to manage opportunities from initial prospecting through successful deal closure.
- Possession of full legal work rights in Australia.
- Willingness to work full-time onsite in Sydney.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing contact network within the Australian security sector.
- Background in electrical engineering, general engineering, or related technical fields.
- Experience selling CCTV, access control, intercom, networking, or other security technologies.
- Expertise handling enterprise-level or high-value accounts.
