Job description
Overview
This role calls for a proactive and determined hunter who doesn't wait for leads but actively identifies and pursues commercial opportunities across Australia, Asia, and South America. The focus is on discovering new customers, distributors, categories, and applications, without inheriting an existing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new customers and markets, turning initial conversations into tangible commercial opportunities.
- Own opportunities from prospecting through collaboration with internal teams to commercialisation.
- Transition strategic customers to the Key Account team once established.
- Explore opportunities across dairy, beverages, desserts, nutrition, bakery, and broader food manufacturing sectors, without being confined to current business operations.
- Focus on East and Southeast Asia for developing export markets, distributor and customer relationships, and new market routes.
- Manage frequent interstate travel and international trips as markets evolve.
- Work autonomously with the backing of a global company, balancing remote work, on-site presence, and travel as required.
- Collaborate across Commercial, Product Development, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Finance to bring ideas to commercial viability.
About AGRANA and Local Operations
AGRANA is a global food business with around 9,000 employees spanning 55 production sites in 25 countries across five continents. The Australian site at Central Mangrove employs approximately 160 people and fosters a culture of ownership, collaboration, and responsibility.
Desired Experience and Attributes
- Background in food, FMCG, or food ingredients industries is advantageous.
- Experience with distributors, export markets, or international customers is favorable.
- A genuine passion for creating new opportunities rather than maintaining existing ones.
