Job description
About the Role
We are looking for an energetic Business Development Manager to partner with a leading non-profit organization in bringing a novel subscription platform to New Zealand's SME market. This role emphasizes initiating new business opportunities, not managing existing accounts, by creating a strong commercial footprint for a unique benefit and engagement offering designed to help SMEs attract, retain, and reward their employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and reach out to SME leaders throughout New Zealand to generate interest and convert prospects into active customers.
- Drive the entire sales cycle from initial discovery sessions and demonstrations to proposal presentations and deal closure.
- Engage directly with key decision-makers such as business owners, founders, operations managers, and HR leaders.
- Provide market insights and feedback to refine sales strategies, value propositions, and onboarding processes.
- Maintain and update the sales pipeline with regular follow-ups, accurate forecasts, and clear conversion goals.
What You Need to Succeed
- Demonstrated success in B2B sales focusing on outbound prospecting and lead generation, preferably with subscription-based products, memberships, or workplace solutions.
- Strong familiarity with the New Zealand SME sector and the ability to communicate effectively with busy business operators.
- Consultative selling skills, including active listening, objection management, and deal closing expertise.
- Self-driven and highly organized, with disciplined CRM record-keeping and a strong goal-oriented approach.
Why Join This Organization?
- Be part of a purpose-driven, collaborative non-profit entity that values its people and mission deeply.
- Opportunity to own and shape the growth of a brand-new product offering, influencing its commercial direction and market success.

If you are passionate about launching a product from inception to market leadership and enjoy the challenge of outbound B2B sales, this opportunity is perfect for you. The organization supports equal employment opportunities and values diversity, encouraging candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
