Job description

About Kordia and the Role

For over 65 years, Kordia has dedicated itself to keeping New Zealanders and their enterprises safe, connected, and future-ready. Operating across New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific, they provide crucial services in broadcasting, telecommunications infrastructure, maritime communications, cloud, and cybersecurity. With a skilled workforce of more than 450 professionals, Kordia is relied upon by some of New Zealand’s largest organizations to safeguard vital interests.

Kordia is expanding its Coverage as a Service (CaaS) offering and seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to spearhead this commercial growth. The initial focus will be on Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and Private 5G, developing the market, generating a robust sales pipeline, and converting opportunities into sustained client relationships. This role involves handling new business from initial contact through solution development, negotiation, and closure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, and cultivate new enterprise, industrial, and commercial opportunities in DAS and Private 5G solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a high-value sales pipeline from initial prospecting to contract completion.
  • Engage with C-suite executives and senior decision-makers to articulate the commercial and operational advantages of CaaS.
  • Collaborate with technical, product, and commercial teams to design customer-centric solutions, pricing models, and proposals.
  • Lead tender processes, RFP responses, and direct pitches related to DAS and Private 5G services.
  • Forge and nurture strategic partnerships with technology vendors, hardware manufacturers, and industry collaborators.
  • Create joint market approaches and co-selling initiatives with key ecosystem partners.
  • Provide ongoing market and customer insights to inform Kordia’s CaaS offerings and strategic roadmap.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in B2B sales and business development within telecommunications, ICT, or managed network services sectors.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of DAS, Private 5G/LTE, in-building wireless coverage, and cellular network architectures.
  • Proven track record in entering new markets, pipeline development, and closing complex technology or managed service contracts.
  • Strong commercial skills with experience managing service agreements, recurring revenue models, and in-depth commercial proposals.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate intricate solutions clearly and influence senior leadership and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across technical design, product management, commercial, and delivery teams effectively.

Why Join Kordia?

This position offers the chance to take ownership of a strategically vital and growing segment of Kordia's business. You will have the independence to build sales pipelines, define market approaches for Coverage as a Service, and collaborate directly with technical and commercial experts to convert complex connectivity challenges into lasting client partnerships.

  • Empowered to expand Kordia’s footprint in DAS, Private 5G, and emerging CaaS technologies.
  • Opportunity to pioneer new markets and cultivate strategic enterprise accounts rather than managing an inherited book.
  • Direct collaboration with Kordia’s engineering, product, and commercial teams to create and secure intricate solutions.
  • Regular interaction with senior customer decision-makers, technology suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Influence on the evolution of Kordia’s CaaS strategies and future innovation roadmaps.

Competitive remuneration is offered, including commission, superannuation contributions up to 5%, insurance benefits, and additional leave entitlements.
