Role Overview
We are looking for a driven and commercially aware Business Development Executive to contribute to the expansion of our base business and group market segments. This position suits individuals who thrive on establishing relationships, proactively reaching out to clients, and eager to gain foundational hotel sales expertise within a collaborative setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and support corporate, group, and base business growth via proactive outreach, diligent follow-ups, and cultivating strong client relationships.
- Handle inbound corporate and group inquiries efficiently, converting leads through professional communication.
- Coordinate site inspections and familiarisation tours, ensuring consistent and positive client experiences.
- Conduct market research and map accounts to uncover new growth opportunities within various segments.
- Maintain accurate tracking of opportunities within the CRM system, preserving pipeline integrity.
- Collaborate with Sales, Reservations, and Revenue teams to facilitate smooth transitions and transparent information exchange.
- Assist the Business Development Manager with prospecting, account growth, and client relationship nurturing as required.
- Support existing client relations while identifying potential for generating additional business.
Qualifications and Skills
- Preferably one to two years’ experience in sales, hospitality, or a related sector.
- Demonstrated interest in advancing a career in hotel sales and business development.
- Comfortable with phone outreach combined with strong written communication abilities.
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Commercially inquisitive with a desire to understand interactions between sales, revenue management, account oversight, and demand generation.
- Team-oriented with the ability to operate autonomously and show initiative.
- Excellent time management skills and readiness to master systems, processes, and sales methodologies.
- Possess tertiary education or equivalent practical experience.
- Hold full, unrestricted working rights in New Zealand.
