Job description
Overview
The University of Otago is undergoing a significant transformation with its People Pathway programme, delivering a new Human Resources Information Management system (Workday) campus-wide. We seek a Business Analyst to contribute to this impactful initiative by supporting business and technical teams in the delivery of enhanced HR capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Gathering, analysing, and documenting comprehensive business requirements related to Workday processes, system integrations, data handling, reporting, and user experience.
- Evaluating and mapping both current and future state workflows to pinpoint gaps, risks, impacts, and opportunities for process enhancements.
- Leading workshops and discovery sessions involving HR, technical staff, and vendors to align project goals.
- Assisting in configuration, testing, data validation, reporting, and readiness activities by providing clear, traceable analyses and requirements documentation.
- Collaborating closely with diverse project workstreams to ensure that business needs are prioritized and accurately incorporated into Workday solutions.
- Ensuring consistent alignment with Workday functionalities, implementation partner recommendations, and the University's overarching programme objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- A relevant qualification, certification, or equivalent experience in business analysis, project delivery, HR systems, or digital transformation.
- Demonstrated expertise in eliciting, analysing, and documenting business requirements and processes, with strong skills in stakeholder engagement and facilitation.
- Familiarity with project delivery methodologies such as agile, hybrid, or implementation environments.
- Capability to integrate process, data, systems, and user experience considerations to achieve quality project outcomes.
- Experience with Workday, HRIS, ERP, or other enterprise system implementations is advantageous.
About the Team
The Transformation and Improvement team actively supports the University's success through strong programme delivery and business process enhancement. This multi-year, multidiscipline programme encompasses HR, Digital, Finance, and the wider University, presenting a chance to contribute significantly to a complex and prominent transformation.
Additional Information
- This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week), fixed term for two years with the potential for extension.
- Location: Ōtepoti (Dunedin), New Zealand; work is onsite.
- The salary range for this role is NZD 85,057 to 92,174, with a top salary of NZD 97,508.
