Business Advisory Services Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a fully qualified Chartered Accountant to assume a key leadership position as Business Advisory Services Manager within a reputable mid-tier accounting firm based in Wellington. This role involves directing and supporting a diverse team of around 20 accountants ranging from graduates to senior professionals, while maintaining active client engagement and overseeing compliance, taxation, and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and develop a multi-level team of accountants.
• Review and supervise compliance activities, including preparation of annual accounts, tax returns, GST filings, and related advisory services.
• Deliver practical tax and business advisory solutions to a diverse clientele.
• Establish and nurture strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor from the outset.
• Support workflow management, quality assurance, deadline adherence, and team competency development within the Business Advisory function.
• Contribute innovative ideas to support continuous firm growth and operational improvements.

Candidate Profile

• Fully qualified Chartered Accountant credential.
• Minimum of five years' relevant experience, preferably within a public accounting practice.
• Robust technical skills encompassing compliance, taxation, and advisory services.
• Proven ability in reviewing work, coaching staff, and fostering professional growth.
• Business-oriented with aptitude to engage and communicate effectively with business owners and decision-makers.
• Positive, well-organized, collaborative, and capable of energizing the team environment.
