Position Summary
This Building Operator role is primarily scheduled for evenings, extending to midnight, and includes weekend work. Exact scheduling depends on the facility's rental calendar, with part-time hours expected. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-driven, and values maintaining a clean, safe, and hospitable environment.
The hourly pay rate ranges between $18.00 and $19.00 CAD. Part-time employees are eligible for pension matching benefits. The application window remains open until November 27, 2026.
Venue Details
Youngs Sportsplex, situated in Welland, Ontario, is a multifaceted sports facility featuring:
- Four indoor tennis courts
- One full-size indoor soccer field divisible into three smaller fields
- Three outdoor full-size artificial turf soccer fields
- Two outdoor natural grass soccer fields
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of washrooms and changing areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of indoor and outdoor spaces, including waste and recycling management.
- Care for and groom soccer fields and tennis courts.
- Execute janitorial tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and glass cleaning.
- Handle landscaping duties, including grass cutting and operating a riding lawn mower.
- Set up and dismantle equipment for rentals, leagues, and special activities.
- Deliver customer service and address general inquiries.
- Engage with clients, coaches, and referees, escalating concerns when necessary.
- Monitor facility usage to promote safety and promptly resolve issues.
- Support special events as needed.
- Carry out additional janitorial and operational tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and dedication to cleanliness and positive customer experience.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in team settings.
- Physically able to perform manual labor and lift loads as required.
- Previous general maintenance or handyman experience is advantageous.
- First Aid and CPR certification is considered a plus.
