Opportunity Details

We seek a motivated Structural Engineer with a focus on Bridge Design to join our Hamilton Structures team. You will engage in designing new bridges, as well as evaluating and strengthening existing structures within a supportive, high-performing team.

This position requires applying sound engineering principles and judgment to deliver projects of moderate complexity and provide technical design contributions for structural and multidisciplinary initiatives. You will gain experience in project planning and financial oversight on local, national, and international projects. Key responsibilities include building and nurturing strong client and colleague relationships, communicating effectively, and confidently presenting your ideas. Continuous professional growth and active collaboration are integral to this role.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a bridge-dedicated structural engineer who communicates effectively, collaborates well, and contributes positively to shared project success. You possess solid expertise in structural and bridge design, including conceptual and detailed design, calculations, modeling, documentation, and conducting design reviews. Comprehensive understanding of the bridge design process, from early investigations through construction, is essential. An inquisitive mindset and eagerness to expand technical abilities are important.

You hold a degree in civil or structural engineering with at least four years’ experience in structural or bridge engineering consultancy. You are passionate about design and problem-solving, applying creative and pragmatic approaches to your projects. Experience in building or civil structures and multidisciplinary teamwork is advantageous. You are committed to learning from senior engineers and may be pursuing professional accreditation such as CPEng.
