Bricklayer

Role Overview

This position involves bricklaying responsibilities at a physical site in Mount Hope, Ontario. Candidates should have between 3 and 5 years of masonry experience. The work environment covers various aspects of construction including repair, renovation, and both commercial and residential projects.

Core Duties

• Preparing and arranging bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles, or other masonry materials.
• Estimating the needed supplies, tools, and equipment for each job.
• Laying bricks, stone, or equivalent materials to provide decorative veneer facing.
• Constructing and setting up prefabricated masonry pieces.
• Creating patios, garden walls, and other ornamental structures.
• Performing work at elevated locations using scaffolds or swing stages.
• Cutting and shaping bricks and concrete blocks precisely using both hand and power tools.
• Providing guidance and instruction to apprentices.
• Building chimneys and fireplaces for residential and commercial buildings.

Working Conditions and Requirements

• The job is physically strenuous requiring lifting heavy materials and standing for long durations.
• Tasks include frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling.
• Candidates must supply their own tools and steel-toed safety boots.
• Work must be conducted on site with no remote option.
