Job description
About the Role
Exceptional design goes beyond aesthetics by enhancing clarity, navigation, and memorability of information. We seek a Brand Designer adept at distilling ideas, campaigns, presentations, or content into visually structured, hierarchical communication that is both engaging and unmistakably aligned with our brand identity.
Joining the First Focus Marketing team in New Zealand, you'll contribute to diverse brand and marketing design projects, including campaigns, presentations, reports, digital content, events, proposals, and internal communications, ensuring a consistent and professional brand presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with marketing and business stakeholders to transform concepts and content into visually compelling communication.
- Design campaign and digital materials that modernize B2B marketing aesthetics.
- Develop sales presentations and proposals with clear, accessible structure.
- Create reports, ebooks, guides, and other extended-form content.
- Produce graphics for social media and web platforms.
- Design collateral for events and support related campaign creatives.
- Craft polished internal communication materials and brand assets.
- Build and enhance PowerPoint and Word templates.
- Translate complex information into comprehensible visual forms without compromising readability.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to clarify communication goals and maintain brand consistency.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in branding, typography, layout, and visual communication; submission of portfolio is mandatory.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud with capability to produce refined, editable production files.
- Advanced design skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience creating B2B design solutions that combine professionalism with creativity and personality.
- Ability to distill and prioritize key message elements from content or concepts and visually communicate them effectively.
- Confidence in collaborative work environments and ability to clarify brief requirements with stakeholders.
- Comfort and competence integrating generative AI tools thoughtfully into the creative process, enhancing, not replacing, design craftsmanship.
- Preferably around three or more years of B2B graphic design experience, with emphasis on quality of work over formal qualification.
- In-house brand experience is highly desirable to understand brand evolution and visual language consistency over time.
Additional Expectations Regarding AI Usage
We value designers who use generative AI to explore concepts and creative directions but require the skill to refine and craft professional design outputs from AI-generated ideas rather than relying solely on AI prompt manipulation.
