Job Overview
The Bodyshop Manager will oversee all aspects of the body shop's operations, ensuring vehicle repairs are completed with high quality, safety, and efficiency while maximizing customer satisfaction and profit margins.
Primary Duties
- Direct daily body shop activities and personnel, including technicians, painters, estimators, and support staff.
- Optimize workflow and assign tasks to increase productivity and reduce repair turnaround times.
- Ensure repair work complies with manufacturer guidelines and company policies by overseeing quality control.
- Evaluate repair estimates and authorize repair procedures as necessary.
- Liaise with insurance representatives, surveyors, and customers to facilitate approval and keep all parties updated on repair status.
- Manage timely procurement and availability of spare parts and materials essential for repairs.
- Track workshop productivity, labor use, and operational efficiency.
- Uphold a safe, tidy, and well-organized workshop, complying with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Address customer concerns with professionalism to maintain excellent customer satisfaction.
- Conduct performance reviews for staff, identifying opportunities for training and development.
- Generate various reports including operational metrics, productivity assessments, and monthly performance summaries.
- Oversee expenditure controls within the workshop to meet financial targets for revenue and profit.
- Ensure regular upkeep and maintenance of all workshop tools and equipment.
