Your Role and Contributions

As a General Production team member working the first shift, you play a crucial role in producing safe, high-quality meat products by performing essential production tasks. Your dependability, attention to detail, and strong work ethic help maintain our standards of safety, quality, and teamwork. You will contribute to a positive workplace atmosphere, support safe and efficient production lines, and help ensure our food products reach families nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Use hand tools, knives, machinery, and other equipment to process meat products.
• Follow all oral and written instructions accurately.
• Maintain focus and attention to detail during repetitive and physically demanding tasks.
• Work your assigned shift reliably and be prepared to work overtime as needed to meet production demands.
• Maintain safety standards by properly wearing PPE such as hard hats, hearing and eye protection, and steel-toed footwear.
• Work collaboratively with co-workers to foster a productive environment.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Stand on concrete and platforms for up to 12 hours per shift.
• Perform tasks involving continuous hand movements like grasping, pinching, arm flexion, and extension.
• Be able to work in cold environments (20-40°F) as well as warm areas exceeding 100°F.
• Operate in wet and humid conditions and handle sanitation and cleaning chemicals.
• Work amidst animal blood, carcass parts, strong odors, and noisy surroundings.
• Climb and move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways, and platforms safely.
• Lift objects repetitively, including overhead lifting up to 30 pounds and occasional lifting of heavier items up to 60 pounds, sometimes with mechanical assistance.

Additional Requirements and Information

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Some positions may require certification to operate specific equipment.
• Work will require wearing personal protective equipment consistently.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
