Role Overview
As a General Production team member, you will be vital in ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality food products by performing key production activities and supporting team members. Your reliability, keen attention to detail, and strong work ethic will help meet safety, quality, and teamwork benchmarks daily, contributing positively to the work environment and helping maintain an efficient production line.
Responsibilities
- Operate hand tools, knives, machinery, and other equipment for meat product processing.
- Support production line activities to meet quality and safety standards.
- Maintain a reliable presence, including the possibility of working scheduled overtime as production demands.
- Contribute to a safe, efficient, and cooperative workplace atmosphere.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions
- Perform repetitive hand movements, including grasping and pinching.
- Stand on concrete or elevated platforms for shifts up to 12 hours.
- Work in environments ranging from cold (20-40 degrees) to hot (over 100 degrees).
- Handle animal blood, carcasses, strong odors, and sanitation chemicals.
- Wear personal protective equipment such as hard hats, hearing and eye protection, and steel-toed shoes.
- Carry out physically demanding tasks including bending, twisting, and lifting items up to 60 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.
- Climb ladders, stairs, and platforms safely.
- May require certification for operating certain equipment.
