Role Summary

The Blaster plays an essential role in the landing gear overhaul process by preparing components for plating and refinishing. This involves removing paints and surface contaminants to ready the parts for chrome, nickel, cadmium, and other specialized plating treatments. Located in Medley, FL, the position demands a focus on precision and safety to uphold the quality and efficiency of the overhaul operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Remove paint and coatings from landing gear components to prepare them for subsequent processing steps.
• Carefully blast specific areas on parts to prepare surfaces for chrome and nickel plating.
• Conduct blasting for cadmium and other specialized coatings, including "Fun Nital" treatment.
• Operate and maintain blasting machinery while adhering to company protocols and safety standards.
• Inspect blasted surfaces to verify quality and proper preparation for plating.
• Keep the work area organized and clean.
• Support production goals by performing additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of relevant experience or training in blasting or surface preparation.
• Prior exposure to aerospace or landing gear components preferred.
• Understanding of plating techniques and adherence to industry safety regulations.
• Capable of lifting and carrying weights up to 50 lbs as required.
